  1. I see EC has posted a Freezing Rain Warning for southwest mb for tonight.

Rob, what are the chances of us here in the RRV of getting that area of freezing rain tonight as well?

  2. Tough call with the freezing rain threat for us tonight... Models generate an area of freezing rain over SE SK/SW MB this evening and track it into the Interlake overnight before weakening. We may get clipped here in Winnipeg overnight but it all depends on how extensive this area of frzg rain is. NAM only has a small area over SE SK that barely makes it into Manitoba before weakening, while GEM is a little more aggressive with the frzg rain area. At this point, all we can say is that the risk is there for some freezing rain for us overnight (or ice pellets) but it's not a given that we'll see any. Freezing rain is a difficult phenomena to forecast well ahead of time unless it's with a large scale system, or we see it developing on radar.

  3. Rob,

What are the latest indications for Monday's system?

I'm also hearing rumblings of a major arctic air outbreak for us around Dec 10th or so, what are your thoughts on that?
