Blizzard conditions certainly possible especially through the Red River valley with a fresh snowfall, strong northerly winds, and bitterly cold temperatures. A new blog entry on that system is on the way..robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01577519556216420480noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33386160.post-8848113707536236322008-12-10T15:26:00.000-06:002008-12-10T15:26:00.000-06:00I got 5cm in Steinbach. 3.6mm liquid equivalent. I think the gradual heat prevented as much from evaporating, so more was actually recorded.

I see the potential for a major storm this weekend. Just looking at the models it appears the who thing would just be one giant blizzard. Perhaps 10cm of snow, with North to North-West winds of 40 to 50km/h gusting to 60 or 70km/h. This could paralyze Manitoba from Sunday morning until Monday. Then frigid temperatures would come in for the remainder of the week. Looks exciting weather-wise, but will make for very dangerous conditions.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10378918135776009197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33386160.post-45463017901294308962008-12-10T12:48:00.000-06:002008-12-10T12:48:00.000-06:00Big grin on my faceBig grin on my faceAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33386160.post-75153504105950113872008-12-10T11:46:00.000-06:002008-12-10T11:46:00.000-06:00Daryl I think you got your direct hit with the cli...Daryl I think you got your direct hit with the clipper with 5 cm falling today!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33386160.post-84676757456083253002008-12-10T03:58:00.000-06:002008-12-10T03:58:00.000-06:00There is talk about a potential storm for this wee...There is talk about a potential storm for this weekend with heavy snow, strong winds and falling temperatures.
According to the models someone would be getting walloped with a icy blast!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33386160.post-33467573026353573412008-12-09T23:39:00.000-06:002008-12-09T23:39:00.000-06:00Looking at EC Radar at 11:30pm it looks like a lot...Looking at EC Radar at 11:30pm it looks like a lot of the snow fall is going to slide south of Winnipeg.
